ROBINHO: KEEP PATO

AC Milan forward Robinho has said that he considers Carlos Tevez to be a great striker and someone who will be of a valuable addition to the squad. However, he does not believe that the arrival of Carlos Tevez should mean the departure of Alexandre Pato.

It has been mentioned in some quarters that AC Milan will be willing to discuss a deal with PSG over the sale of Alexandre Pato, who has suffered a number of injury problems during his time with the Italian club. The recent takeover by Carlo Ancelotti at PSG has meant that the French club are now the favourites to sign the forward, who could cost around £25 million.

However, Robinho has said that AC Milan should not be selling Alexandre Pato just because he is injury prone at the moment. He believes that with the addition of Carlos Tevez to the current squad, AC Milan will be able to compete not only on the domestic front, but also on the European front as well. AC Milan have not been in the Champions League final since the last time they won it in 2007. Robinho says that even though the quality of the Argentine striker cannot be doubted, the presence of Alexandre Pato would add some valuable strength to the side.

“I’ve played with Tevez at City. I can guarantee that he is a great player. I would advise Pato to stay here at Milan. I think that he could win the Ballon d’Or one day,” Robinho told Il Corriere dello Sport. The striker also said that he is looking to improve his finishing skills to become the best player in the world. According to him, he can become a great player with 20 to 25 goals per season and the Champions League medal.
